FAQ
Q
What procedures are required to launch fireworks?
A
You must submit an application to the relevant fire department or prefectural authorities responsible for the launch site. The application must be accompanied by basic information, a consumption plan, and other required documents.
In many areas, applications must be submitted two weeks to one month prior to the launch, and an application fee may apply (e.g., 7,900 yen).
As we are a member of the Japan Pyrotechnics Association, we can provide advice regarding fireworks-related insurance; please feel free to consult us at any time.
Q
Will the fireworks be launched even if it rains?
A
As a general rule, the fireworks display will proceed even in the event of rain; light rain or drizzles rarely interfere with the safe launching of fireworks. However, if heavy rain or flood warnings are issued, or if there is a risk of lightning, we will prioritize safety and decide whether to cancel or postpone the event.
Please also note that during the winter season, we may need to make a decision well in advance based on snow conditions (taking into account factors such as sudden changes in road conditions and the time required to transport the fireworks to the site).
Q
Will a cancellation fee be charged?
A
Yes, cancellation fees apply. The fee varies depending on how far in advance the cancellation is made relative to the scheduled date:
Cancellations made 40 days or more in advance are free of charge.
Cancellations made 39 to 20 days in advance incur a fee of 30% of the fireworks cost.
19 to 8 days in advance: 50%.
7 to 2 days in advance: 80%.
Cancellations made the day before or on the day of the event incur a 100% fee.
However, no cancellation fee is charged if the event is cancelled due to organizer decisions, such as in the case of inclement weather. We will provide full details when we prepare your quote, so please rest assured.
